MATERIAL REVIEW / FABRICATION STOCK

Sheet stock. Specify the material that the formed and finished part depends on.

A flat sheet description is only part of the fabricated requirement. Connect exact grade, thickness and surface condition to bends, joints, protected faces and final assembly acceptance.

KeepWin coordinates partner-supported review. Exact material, responsible operations, process availability, dimensions, inspection, commercial quantities and timing are confirmed in the project proposal; no universal capability or certification is promised.

01 / STOCK DEFINITION

Control the inputs hidden by a sheet-metal label.

Grade, thickness and supplied condition can affect the route. Make the exact specification visible before accepting a generic metal description.

Grade and condition

Identify the controlling specification and relevant supplied state. Confirm permitted alternatives and requested supply evidence.

Thickness

State the required stock thickness and applicable acceptance requirement. Do not infer a universal available thickness range.

Surface and direction

Identify supplied finish, visible/protected faces and any direction requirement. Clarify whether those conditions must remain through fabrication.

02 / FABRICATION RELATIONSHIP

Review stock with the bends and joints it must support.

The finished component can require a different review from a flat profile. Provide the actual formed and assembled definition.

Engineering illustration, not to scale. No measured result or universal process limit is shown.

Bend intent

Show radii, flanges, nearby features and final locating relationships. Review actual stock and tooling rather than applying one rule to all materials.

Cut features

Mark important outlines, holes, slots and edge condition. Confirm the offered cutting route and included completion work.

Joint purpose

Identify component materials and joining/fastening intent. Actual method, access and evidence require route-specific review.

Final interfaces

Define datums and fits after relevant forming, joining and finish. The incoming sheet alone does not verify them.

03 / FAMILY DISCUSSION

Compare exact supplies against the same final part.

Family names organize the review and do not guarantee availability or universal forming/finish behaviour.

04 / SURFACE HANDOFF

Keep stock finish and final treatment separate.

A supplied sheet finish may change during cutting, bending or joining. Agree the final accepted reference and protection requirements.

Visible-face map

Identify important surfaces and permitted marks. State whether the supplied finish or a later treatment controls acceptance.

Protected areas

Map contact, threads or mating features requiring treatment limits. Confirm masking and final dimension checks.

Incoming evidence

Request applicable stock identity and record scope. A generic reference photo is not supply verification.

Substitution review

Approve changed grade, thickness, condition or finish against geometry and earlier evidence. Keep the released files consistent.

05 / ACCEPTANCE SCOPE

Verify material and fabricated result with distinct evidence.

Stock records and final-state checks answer different questions. Agree the quantity, method and reference behind each decision.

06 / RFQ PREPARATION

Quote the same stock and completed fabrication.

A material change can make offers difficult to compare. Include grade, thickness and surface assumptions alongside the operation chain.

Inputs

Send exact stock specification, controlling formed/flat files, final interfaces, bends/joints, surface map, quantities and destination. List permitted alternatives.

Scope items

Identify supply, cutting, edge work, forming, joining, finish, final checks, requested records and packing. Confirm actual route and documentation availability.

Approval

Agree stock changes and sample acceptance. No universal thickness, bend radius, capacity, MOQ, tolerance or delivery period is claimed.

07 / QUESTIONS

Before a sheet-stock enquiry.

The exact supply and final fabricated state belong together.

Is thickness alone enough?

No. Include exact grade, condition, surface requirements and the final part definition.

Can one bend radius rule cover every sheet?

No universal rule is published. Review actual stock, geometry and tooling.

Does supplied finish survive every operation unchanged?

No blanket result is assumed. Map visible faces and define the final accepted state.

Does a stock certificate approve the assembly?

It supports its stated material scope. Formed geometry, joints and appearance need relevant final-state checks.

Can a different thickness be used to simplify supply?

Review the change against interfaces, forming, joints and prior approval before release.

PREPARE THE NEXT DECISION

Send the stock specification and the final sheet-part requirement.

Include grade/thickness/condition, formed and flat files with precedence, surface or direction intent, bends/joints, final finish, records, permitted alternatives, quantities and destination.
